Porter-Starke Services to host virtual symposium with Scott D. Miller, Ph.D. to educate, celebrate, and advocate for mental health

For their 2021 Living Health, Balance, & Hope Symposium, to be held on Thursday, May 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Porter-Starke Services Foundation is thrilled to be welcoming Scott D. Miller, Ph.D. Though this year’s event will be virtual, the experience that will be gained from those who attend will be no different than years past.

Author of “Better Results: Using Deliberate Practice to Improve Therapeutic Effectiveness,” a step-by-step guide to providing intentional and effective care in the field of mental health, Miller will be targeting his presentation towards those in the mental health profession. With the goal of improving therapeutic effectiveness, this year’s virtual symposium will help to enhance the care clinicians provide to their clients. Attendees will learn how to implement deliberate practice, an evidence-based practice, to improve client outcomes.

The event will also serve as an opportunity for professionals who are working to maintain or re-certify their license to gain three continuing education units (CEUs).

Miller is also the managing director and co-founder of the International Center for Clinical Excellence (ICCE), a community of dedicated and experienced educators, clinicians, and researchers who work to promote excellence in behavioral science. Porter-Starke Services’ virtual symposium will be one of many talks that Miller presents over the course of the year. He conducts numerous workshops and trainings like these, with the intent to inspire organizations and individual professionals to implement effective changes into their work to ultimately achieve better results in the clients they serve.

The Living Health Balance Hope Symposium will take place via Zoom and the link to join will be provided to registrants the week prior to the event. It has a cost of $75, and you can visit the link here to register and find more detailed information.
