Nativity of Our Savior Elementary School has great things going on, with their students and staff!
Our third grade class, led by teacher Mrs. Mary Stephenson, is having a weekly economics curriculum presented by Annetta Jones from Purdue University Extension. It is entitled “Captain Cash” and is hosted on Thursdays, from 12:15 to 1:15 pm.
Our kindergarten class, led by teacher Mrs. Vicki Crockett and aide Mrs. Joyce Sanchez, is building a milk jug igloo, along with the winter unit they are in. The Nativity community has been sending in empty milk jugs for the past 2 weeks. So far, 224 jugs have been used and the sides are now completed. Students take books inside, using the igloo as a reading nook. The hope is to have enough jugs by Monday to make the roof and front entrance.
The school will be celebrating Catholic Schools’ Week from January 30 to February 5. Like other Catholic schools around the nation, we are following the “A+ for Education” theme by enjoying special activities and thanking our community by doing service projects. A magician show will be held Friday morning for the whole school, while fifth through eighth grades will go to Andrean on Thursday for Mass.
