Northwest Health is getting everyone into the Halloween spirit as the day gets closer. The annual trunk-or-treat festivities started off in La Porte on Wednesday, October 23.
Karen Jedrysek, Northwest Health director of human resources, loves the way that this event brings the Northwest Health family together. It takes their team a lot of preparation to bring this event together every year.
“We enjoy providing events like this to treat our employees and their kids,” Jedrysek said. “We take care of the community every single day, so it’s nice to celebrate with each other when we get the opportunity.”
In recent years, Northwest Health has experienced some bad luck with the weather on this event. However, the rain was nowhere to be found, and the weather made for a sunny celebration.
Despite some previous weather complications, the trunk-or-treat has always had one of the biggest turnouts for Northwest Health events. Every car had a unique design and fan-favorite costumes from Super Mario, Toy Story, and Winnie The Pooh.
“My favorite part about this event is seeing our employees' kids in their fun outfits,” Jedrysek said.
Attendees had the opportunity to try out face painting and receive balloons and fall-themed snacks at the event. The kids had a chance to pitch a baseball, check out some real-life Mario Kart, and much more at this event. Jedrysek can’t wait for the trunk-or-treat fun to continue in Valparaiso on Wednesday, October 30.
