HannaFest Celebrates Heritage, History

The citizens of Hanna invite everyone to come to HannaFest on July 20 and 21. Hanna is located on US 30 between Valparaiso and Plymouth in southern La Porte County. HannaFest celebrates the history, culture, and people of this small, friendly community.

Stroll the quiet streets of Hanna and enjoy the town-wide garage sales, arts and crafts, food and drink, music, and many other activities. Entrance and parking are free. There will be lots of activities for kids, including Squiggles and Smaxy the Clown, kite-flying demonstrations, face-painting, a Moon Walk, a K9 demonstration, and a coloring contest. For families there will be Bingo with a Cake Walk, a talent contest, parade, a family fun run around town, and Fireworks at dusk on Saturday. Adults will enjoy the Beer Garden and Saturday night Street Dance, Car show, Antique Tractor show, and the food specials at Rumors Bar & Grill. On Saturday the Hanna Lions Club will have their famous BBQ Chicken for sale from 10 am until it’s gone.

Friday, July 20
All events are downtown

• 6 pm Family Bingo including a Cake Walk, Moon Walk for kids, Food and Drink, and the Fire Dept. Beer Garden.
  
• Special rib dinner at Rumors Bar & Grill

Saturday, July 21
All events are downtown

• 8 am Family Fun Run. 1 mile around town. Free gifts to participants.
  
• 8 am to 4 pm Arts, crafts, and garage sales all around town. Food, drink, and vendors. Kids’ games and activities. Kids’ show featuring Quiggles and Smaxy the Clown. Kite Flying exhibition. Antique Tractors.
  
• 8 am to 2:30 pm Car show downtown
  
• 11 am The Craziest Parade you have ever seen. All around town.
  
• 10 am to 12 noon Hanna Lions Famous BBQ Chicken
  
• 10 am Police K9 demonstration
  
• 12 noon Fire Dept. Extrication demonstration
  
• All day Beer Garden downtown. Pulled Pork Sandwich special at Rumors Bar & Grill.
  
• 3 pm “The Stage” Hanna’s own talent show. All talents and all ages. Prizes for winners.
  
• 9 pm to 1 am Hanna Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. 12th Annual Summer Heat Street Dance featuring: Pfreakshow (p.s. dump your boyfriend) Food and Drink. Must be 21. Cover charge.
  
• At Dusk Spectacular Fireworks Display (weather permitting).
