Portage High School Students Making a Difference This Holiday

By: Portage Township School Corporation Last Updated: December 6, 2011

PHS-Students-Holiday-Project-1Portage High School is making a concerted effort to help our students build developmental assets important for success in life. December's focus is Service to Others. Each teacher's 2nd mod class has been asked to create and implement a class service project. Students have brainstormed, discussed, and organized projects, such as the following:

Mr. Kania and Mr. Haas have adopted 30 families for the Angel Tree. Our goal was to raise $3000, so we could spend $100 on each kid. It currently looks like we are going to surpass that total, and we are in the process of trying to adopt more kids. The kids are doing an awesome job! We are going to wrap these gifts on Wednesday December 7 during all classes, and we are going to load and deliver these gifts on Wednesday after school.

The following is a list of some of the great things happening at Portage High School this month!
