This award denotes Porter as a Health and Human Service’s 2010 Medal of Honor hospital. Porter is only one of four hospitals recognized in the state of Indiana by HRSA , and the only hospital located in Northwest Indiana.
According to Nurse Educator, Bonnie Turman, RN, the need for organ donation has never been greater. “More people than ever are awaiting a life-saving organ. Porter follows a collaborative model to institute best practices for donation and transplantation, so we can help more people and families in need.”
