Girls Basketball Sectional Brackets Drawn, Lady Indians’ Opponents Determined

The IHSAA drew the brackets for the girls basketball state tournament on Sunday, as the Indians will have a tough, but familiar battle to win their sectional this year.

The Class 4A, Sectional 2 features seven teams from the Duneland Athletic Conference along with local powerhouse Hobart, but Portage may not need to face them until the sectional championship game, should they advance. The other teams in the conference include Valparaiso, LaPorte, Crown Point, Michigan City, Chesterton, and Merrillvile.

Portage will first face off against the LaPorte Slicers on the Indians’ home court. Should they advance, they will take on the winner of the Crown Point – Valparaiso game.

Good luck to the Indians in their last two games of the season, as they travel to Munster on Tuesday and Lake Central on Thursday!
