The Southern Shore Art Association (SSAA) announces its First Annual Photography Exhibit. This year’s “Captured Light” will showcase current work of member and guest photographers. Approximately 15-20 artists are expected to display a total of about 75 photographs exhibiting a wide range of themes, subject matter and technique.
Photography is an art medium that is based on creating images using a variety of light sensitive technologies - both chemical and digital. Starting with the capture of real-life subject matter, the artist interprets the subject with composition, lighting, perspective and if desired, a wide range of post-production and printing techniques that fulfills the artist's vision.
This exhibit will include images demonstrating a range of the creative spectrum from "straight photography" (as captured in the camera) to highly edited images and a variety of print media including paper, canvas and metal.
Join the artists on Friday, February 4th at the Southern Shore Art Association Gallery, 724 Franklin in Michigan City for a Free Opening Reception and First Friday Celebration from 5-8.
Refreshments and appetizers will be served.
Eleven or more galleries and businesses are always open for "First Fridays" to celebrate the arts in the "Uptown Arts District."
