Upcoming Programs at the Portage Parks Department

Adult Yoga is being held at the Portage Yacht Club on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:45 p.m. Saturday Morning Yoga is held at the Portage Yacht Club. Cost for ongoing classes is $30 per month for once/week attendance or $50 per month for unlimited attendance. All classes are for beginner/intermediate levels, adults age 18+. Cornhole Tournament
On Friday, November 19th at 6:00pm, we will be hosting a cornhole tournament at Woodland Park. Cost is $30 per team for 2 v. 2 double elimination. Tournament is for ages 18 & up. Register at Woodland Park before start of tournament. Winners receive 50% of entry fees, runners up receive 25%. Checks will be mailed third Thursday of following month. A cash bar will be available for those 21 & up.

Wiffleball Tournament
On Saturday, December 18th at 1:00pm, we will be hosting an indoor wiffleball tournament at Woodland Park. Cost is $5 per player for 5 v. 5 double elimination. Teams can roster up to 10 players. Tournament is for ages 18 & up. Register at Woodland Park by Thursday, December 16th. Maximum 12 teams. This is for men & women. No limits or restrictions on how many each.

Youth Dodgeball
Come out for our afterschool dodgeball program. There will be an instructor on hand to explain the rules and help officiate matches. The 6-week program begins on Monday, November 8 from 4:30pm – 5:30pm at Woodland Park. This program is for ages 7-12. Cost is $20/resident, $25/non-resident

NBA Dribble, Dish & Swish
Compete against your friends to see who has the best basketball skills. Winners will move on to the regional competition for a chance to compete on a national stage at the NBA All-Star Jam Session presented by Adidas in Los Angeles, CA. Competition will take place on Wednesday, November 10th at 5:30pm at Woodland Park. This is for ages 7-12 and the cost is FREE.

Tumbling Tuesdays
Children will learn the fundamentals of tumbling while developing balance, agility, and strength in a relaxed, fun environment. No tumbling experience required! Class is 6 weeks, November 16 – December 21 at the Portage Yacht Club. Ages 2-3 is from 5:00pm – 5:50pm. Ages 4-5 is from 6:00pm – 6:50pm. Ages 6+ is from 7:00pm – 7:50pm. Cost is $35 for residents, $40 for non-residents. Register at Woodland Park by November 15. Tumbling instructor needed! Call 762-1675 ext 308 for details.

Indoor Soccer League
7 week soccer program modeled after our outdoor league. Children will be grouped by age (3-4 year olds and 5-6 year olds). January 5 - February 20. Practices Wednesday nights, games Sunday afternoons. Registration Deadline is December 10. Held at Woodland Park (Oakwood Hall). Cost is $35/resident, $40/non-resident. Flag Football Turkey Bowl
Format is 8 v. 8 on a 100 yard field with kickoffs, punts, field goals and USFTL rules. Tourney will be played on Saturday, November 27 at Imagination Glen. Cost is $200 per team. Ages are 17+ (under 18 requires parent signed release). Register by Monday, November 22. Limited to first 8 teams to register.

Christmas Craft Show
Come and get an early start on Christmas at our annual craft show. We will feature a large variety of crafts, as well as quality works from local and regional artists. Raffles hourly and concessions are available. Saturday, November 27 9 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 28 9 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Santa will visit Woodland Park each day from 11am - 1pm Location: Woodland Park, Oakwood Grand Hall. There is no admission fee but please bring a canned good donation for the Portage Food Pantry. We are still looking for craft vendors! If you are interested, please print the following booth rental application and bring it in to our office at Woodland Park along with your booth rental fee.
