Portage Varsity & JV Softball Teams Defeat Highland

VARSITY SOFTBALL:
The Varsity Softball team defeated Highland last night 1-0 making their record 13-8 (7-6 DAC). Natalie Korpak pitched 6 innings with 3 strikeouts & 3 hits, Kylie Someson pitched the last inning giving up no hits. Natalie Korpak, Rhi Smolar, Haley Hodges, Shelby Meints and Nikki Cloyd all had hits for Portage. Rhi Smolar had 2 hits with the last hit scoring Nikki Cloyd for the winning run.

JV SOFTBALL:
The JV Softball team defeated Highland 17-7 last night making their record 13-6 (9-5 DAC).

Player Highlights:

Team had 19 hits
Stephanie Upton 4-6 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s
Evie Tsarnas 2-3 with 2 RBI’s and 2 stolen bases
Arissa Salas and Jena Alaniz each went 3-5 with 2 RBI’s and a stolen base
Katie Richerson added 3 hits, Peyton Hulse added 2, and Heather Zengler and Brittany Adams each had 1 hit
