City of LaPorte volunteer workday

The City of La Porte Park and Recreation Department is holding a volunteer workday to perform annual maintenance on Fort La Play Porte, the community-built playground in Kesling Park. From 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, September 26, volunteers will be completing the following tasks:

Spreading safety surface
Cleaning play amenities and decking
Painting and straining
Other repairs and maintenance as needed

Volunteers are asked to bring rakes, shovels and pitchforks to spread the safety surface. Other supplies will be provided. Snacks and beverages served during work hours. For more information, call 219-326-9600 or contact Park Superintendent Mark Schreiber at mschreiber@cityoflaportein.gov
