PortageChristian5KIf you ever wanted to stay in shape, help out a good cause and have the opportunity to win a glow in the dark bicycle, you should consider signing up for the Portage Christian High School 5K Run.

This event consists of a 5K Run/Walk, Kids Time Fun Run and 1.6 Mile Jog. The 5K will give away medals for the top 3 finishers in both Men and Women Divisions. The first place high school female and male student athlete finishers will win a glow in the dark bike.

For Kid’s Time Fun Run, three divisions with ages 3-4. 5-6 and 7-8 are available to enter with each of the children being safely led around the course by members of the PCS Athletic Department.

For the 1.6 mile jog, this event is meant to be less competitive and geared more towards fitness. This event is not timed and does not feature prizes.

Currently there are no students registered for the 5K so there are plenty of positions still available. If no one else registers, the first boy and girl runner will take away the glow in the dark bike, despite the time it takes them to finish.

Vendors from this event include Vitamin Shoppe, Golden Living Centers, Edible Arrangements, Chicagoland Popcorn, Aplus Water and XIFFIX among other vendors.

Sponsorship profits will go to a non for profit organization hosted by PCS, which will then be donating to the NWI Food Bank. Currently, $1,000 has obtained and is ready to be donated to the food bank and will be presented and donated by Golden Living Center in Portage.
