‘Circle Mirror Transformation’ Comes to Theatre Northwest November 6-15

By: Indiana University Northwest Last Updated: October 10, 2014

rot1Theatre Northwest, the performance company of the Indiana University Northwest Department of Performing Arts, is proud to announce its fall production, “Circle Mirror Transformation,” a play by Annie Baker.

The show is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Nov. 6-8 and Nov. 12-15, and 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 9, at Theatre Northwest on Grant, 3660 Grant St., located one mile west of the main campus at 37th Avenue and Grant Street.

Directed by IU Northwest Alumnus and Visiting Assistant Scholar of Theatre, Mark Spencer, the production will feature performances by IU Northwest students Andrew Becker, Christina Biancardi, Jacob Cherry, Emmie Reigel and Amanda Tomczak, and production support from Philip Culbertson, Sam Janosi and Chris Wisner.

Winner of the 2012 Obie Award for new play, Circle Mirror Transformation is described by The New York Times as “the kind of unheralded gem that sends people into the streets babbling and bright-eyed with the desire to spread the word. The play traces the lives of a handful of small-town Vermont residents who gather each week for an acting class taught at the local community center. By the play's end we seem to see to the very bottom of these souls, and feel how the artificial intimacy of the acting class has shaped their lives in substantial ways.”

General admission tickets are $10. Cash only will be accepted at the door. Reservations are highly recommended, as performances will sell out. Reserve your seats online at www.iun.edu/theatre or by calling (219) 980-6808.
