“So I think in general, this is the first big meet that everyone looks forward to before the postseason really begins with everyone’s conference and then sectionals and so forth. It’s somewhat the first time we’re all meeting in one place. It definitely has, like, a big competition type of feel and I think that definitely was reflected on some of the attitudes that were seen. We had a lot of good positivity each year, and on other teams, some fast swimmers and so forth. Overall, it was a really good atmosphere and again, it’s somewhat of a predecessor to what’s to come with conference and sectionals. I think everyone looks forward to the meeting and I think this was a good meet overall.” -Nick Ecsy, Head Highland Boys and Girls Swimming coach.
“So, I think coming off of Christmas break and training after Christmas; I think we all did pretty well. It was a hard meet, it would go against very good competition. I think we had good performances for how we’ve been working and everything.” -Sienna Janes- Portage “So when I first arrived at the pool, I thought it was a really nice pool. I really liked it and I had a very good first impression of it. I know that it’s (Highland) known as a very fast pool so I was very confident coming into here. When I swim my races, I feel like having a good mindset is really good before you race, so that’s what I did and I swim my best when you try your hardest. I really enjoyed the school and thank you so much (Highland HS) for having me!” -Sophia Himden- Crown Point
