Crown Point vs. Portage Boys IHSAA Sectional Basketball 2023

The Crown Point Bulldogs advanced through the first round of the IHSAA Boys’ Basketball Sectional Tournament on Tuesday evening, defeating the Portage Indians 54-45. The teams were evenly matched throughout much of the night, often seperated by less than a field goal until the Bulldogs broke through in the fourth quarter. AJ Lux led Crown Point in scoring, posting 21 points. Jack Svetich also hit a double digit point total, scoring 13.
Portage finishes their season with a 14-9 record. O’Mari Evans led the team in scoring on the evening, with 15 total points.
Crown Point, now 15-9, moves on to face Chesterton, 18-5, in the next round of play on March 3.
