The Portage High School community had a moment of silence in the gym before the start of the game to honor the life of Brandy Manville, who was a secretary of eight years at the High School. Mike Stills, the Principal of Portage High School, delivered a very solemn and heartfelt speech honoring her legacy and service, in and out of the school.
“So when you ask what the pillar is, you typically think about the people at the top, the people that make a lot of money, the people that are in executive positions. Brandy was a secretary, was probably one of the biggest pillars, and one of the most important people in this building. She was often a counselor, a mother, and a mentor for our kids. They came into the office whether they needed a hug, whether they needed a stern talking to, or whether they just needed some guidance…she was an incredible person when it came to mentoring kids and she’s truly going to be missed by the students and staff alike.” Mr. Mike Stills- Portage High School Principal.
