The Greenways Foundation of Indiana, in partnership with the Indiana Parks and Recreation Association (IPRA), is proud to announce a series of workshops on Trail Towns. Enticing people off the trail and into adjacent communities, where they can spend money and stimulate local economies, is the mission of Trail Towns.
Trail Town programs offer the potential to create the following impacts:
1) Generating economic growth.
2) Growing local businesses and jobs.
3) Compounds the trail’s economic potential.
4) Improves infrastructure in rural areas.
5) Protects the trails and the surrounding nature.
To help promote this exciting new initiative in Indiana, the Greenways Foundation has contracted with Amy Camp of Cycle Forward to host six workshops throughout the state. The dates and locations are as follows:
October 31st Portage - NIRPC offices, 6100 Southport Road)
November 1st South Bend – St. Patrick’s County Park, 50651 Laurel Road
November 4th Fort Wayne – Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza
November 5th Evansville Central Library – 200 SE Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive
November 7th Terre Haute – Launch Terre Haute, 672 Ohio Street
November 8th Carmel – Monon Community Center, 1235 Central Park East Drive
