Do you have nausea, groin pain or a bulge in your lower abdomen? Learn more about the common symptoms of a hernia during a free screening 9 am to 1 pm Saturday, Sept. 16, at St. Catherine Hospital, 4320 Fir St., Suite 410, in East Chicago.
Community Care Network, Inc. General Surgeon Carlos Gonzalez, MD, will provide the screenings and offer treatment information about hernias.
Dr. Gonzalez is an expert with the da Vinci Surgical System, a minimally invasive robotic-assisted option to repair hernias that provides a quicker and easier recovery.
“Years ago, people would put off hernia repair out of worry over the pain and recovery time,” he said. “With the advanced technology we have today, that is no longer an issue. Most of our hernia patients return home the same day as their surgery.”
