Region spots sure to make a BOOM this 4th of July

Get patriotic this summer by picking out what festive tank top you’re going to throw on or which sparkly temporary tattoo to stick on your arm to celebrate the United States’ Independence Day. The Region goes all out for this holiday, and you’re sure to find somewhere to celebrate with loved ones that’ll have you hearing booms, playing with sparklers, and seeing the whole Region light up the sky. The smell of fireworks, the cloud of smoke in the air, and the sound of the country as it unites in celebration is truly what this holiday is all about.

Whether you’re looking to go to a parade, watch a fireworks show, go to a beer garden with some friends, or partake in a light celebration during the day, Northwest Indiana has it all. Every city in the Region has what you’re looking for, you just have to know where to find it.

June 29, 2024 – Mishawaka, IN

The City of Mishawaka celebrates our National Independence Day with its 8th annual Independence Day Celebration. From 3 p.m.-10 p.m. EST, Central Park will be filled with Mishawakans partaking in live music, food, crafts, kid’s games and activities, and will end the evening with fireworks!

July 4, 2024 – Hobart, IN

The City of Hobart is having the Hobart Chamber of Commerce take over the 4th of July parade this year! The Brickies can expect a parade through downtown Hobart followed by food vendors and live music by the band Aftermath at Festival Park from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. CST.

July 4, 2024 – La Porte, IN

You can expect the traditional 4th of July parade through the historical downtown of La Porte this year. La Porte celebrates with its 78th annual parade that’s sure to be a firecracker!

July 4, 2024 – Portage, IN

The City of Portage celebrates with a BANG! Portage hosts a parade at 10 a.m. CST followed by an all-day festival at Founders Square beginning at 5 p.m. CST that’s sure to be a crowd pleaser. 

July 4, 2024 – Crown Point, IN

The City of Crown Point never disappoints with its best of the Midwest Independence Day parade and fireworks. The parade will begin at South Main Street at 11 a.m. CST and the fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. CST at the Lake County Fairgrounds.

July 4, 2024 – Valparaiso, IN

Valpo Parks and the City of Valparaiso partner up to give the residents of Valparaiso a reason to celebrate their freedom. Located at Urschel Field, you can expect live music, great food, patriotic activities for all ages, and fireworks beginning at 9:15 p.m. CST.

July 5, 2024 – South Bend, IN

The City of South Bend let’s freedom ring with a Backyard BBQ. South Bend shuts the downtown district down to host a BBQ for the whole city. From 5 p.m.-9 p.m. EST, you can expect the whole community to indulge in a hotdog and beer while visiting with neighbors.

July 5, 2024 – Elkhart, IN

Elkhart is promising an unforgettable Independence Day Celebration this year! With live music, food, and fireworks kicking off at 5 p.m. EST at Central Green, this isn’t going to be one you’ll want to miss!
