Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) is hosting first Friday with a live music performance by Eric Lambert on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 5 to 8 p.m. Central. All are welcome to enjoy the show, complimentary light refreshments and a cash bar. Admission is free, as always.

Eric Lambert has played guitar, educated, recorded and toured internationally with many diverse artists. He is a three time Chicago Music Award winner, a Strings and Sol Festival (Mexico) Guitar Champion and a RockyGrass (CO) new band winner as a member of the Henhouse Prowlers.

His latest recording "Beating The Odds" peaked at #8 on the Folk Alliance International DJ Chart in 2021, along with Bela Fleck, Norman Blake, Billy Strings and others by the "Back Porch" radio show on WVPE Public Radio. It was also named the Best Regional Release of the year by Tom Lounges and the Times of Northwest Indiana.

In addition to enjoying the musical performance, attendees can view "Stitched, Woven and Hooked," LCA’s current exhibition. This exhibit showcases extraordinary work by textile artists who employ a broad range of materials and techniques including traditional quilt making, basket weaving and embroidery, to new digital techniques and other contemporary material play.

In the NIPSCO Art Education Studios, "Art from the Start," is on display through May 15. This popular exhibition showcases the artworks created by the students of Michigan City Area Schools.
