YMCA Collecting Pop Tabs for Hannah’s Hope

Y-Care’s service learning project will start January 5th, Y-care will be collecting pop tabs for Hannah’s Hope. Hannah is a local Portage child. She will undergo surgery February 9, 2012.

Hannah’s Story-Hannah Grace was born June 18, 2009 like any other child. At 3 weeks, Hannah’s parents realized that something was different. Hannah had a head CT done and come to find out, Hannah had suffered severe brain damage at some point during the pregnancy. The cause of the damage is unknown.

Hannah’s parents along with many friends and family have started a charity to help support the organizations that help Hannah. Their goal is to raise money for pediatric brain research and to support programs like First Steps who help children at risk for developmental delays. You can bring tabs to the YMCA Welcome Center.
