WorkOne Northwest Indiana celebrated the success of 30 students during a special graduation ceremony held on Wednesday, June 17th at Woodland Park in Portage. The celebratory event recognized the students who spent the last 26 weeks in training to gain the necessary knowledge to achieve this Electronic Health Records Specialist certification provided by MedCerts.
The students gained skills in billing and coding, electronic health records, medical terminology, and more. The healthcare industry is one of the region’s in-demand industries, requiring more skilled workers for local employers. “With these new skills they will be ready to obtain a variety of positions within the healthcare field,” said Nicholas Elliott, WorkOne Regional Manager.
The Northwest Indiana Workforce Board works to identify in-demand occupations in our region and ensures that their local WorkOne offices make efforts in providing necessary training in order to skill up people for jobs in the regional in-demand industries.
