Knitting Together at the Museum
Area knitters are invited to gather in the Brown Mansion parlor for a cozy afternoon of knitting, conversation, and refreshments on Sunday, January 4, from 1-5 pm for Knitting Together. The program is free of charge and open to the public. Those who crochet or do needlework are also welcome to attend.
The Westchester Township History Museum, a cultural and educational service of Westchester Public Library, is housed in the Brown Mansion at 700 W. Porter Ave., Chesterton. The museum is open to the public Wednesday-Sunday from 1-5 pm. Groups may make reservations for tours by calling the museum at 983-9715.

Lego Club at Library Service Center
Westchester Public Library’s continuing Lego Club will meet Friday, January 9, at 6:30 pm. Clubbers meet at the Library Service Center, 100 W. Indiana Avenue, Chesterton. Attendance is free of charge. Registration is necessary. Children ages six years and up are welcome to sign up in the Children’s Department.
Parents are invited to the special Partnering with Parents Build. Children will get a bucket of Legos and will build something from their own imaginations.

Windows 8.1 Class at Library
Bits and Bytes will continue at Westchester Public Library during the month of January, with two offerings of Introduction to Windows 8.1. The classes will take place in the classroom located in the Serials/Automation Department on the second floor of Thomas Library, 200 W. Indiana Avenue, Chesterton. The evening session will take place on Tuesday, January 13, from 6-8 pm. The class will be repeated on Thursday, January 15, from 1-3 pm. Registration is underway for both classes.

This class will be an introduction to Windows 8.1. Learn how to navigate and appreciate the features of this exciting new operating system. Become familiar with the touchscreen apps and desktop productivity. Learn how to work and play at the same time.
Attendees must have some computer knowledge and must know how to use a mouse. Typing skills are preferred but not necessary.
