Chesterton High School’s radio station, WDSO-FM 88.3 will be hosting its 22nd Annual Radiothon Monday through Friday, April 23-27, 2012 from 6 a.m.- 9 p.m. The station will be on-air for a total of 75 hours during the fundraiser.
During the afterschool shows, on each day a different senior who is a member of WDSO will be on-air from 3-9 p.m. On Monday, Nick Borzych will be the DJ; Tuesday is Jake Deiotte; Wednesday will be Austin Martinson; Thursday will be Hunter Huddleston and Jordan Fine and David Ortiz will finish out the week on Friday. So, you can tune in and make a pledge or request a song at any time or when your favorite DJ’s are on-the-air.
Music requests will be taken each day between 6 a.m.-9 p.m.; however, some regular programming will be broadcast at their scheduled times. You can make a request by calling 983-3777 or going to WDSO’s website.
There will be giveaways featuring gift cards and certificates from local businesses during the Radiothon. A reminder that if you are listening to WDSO on the internet, the station comes in slower than if you are listening on the radio and could affect when you call in during the giveaways.
If you make a $25 or more donation to WDSO, you will receive a poster by Mitch Markovitz that was unveiled at WDSO’s 35th anniversary. The poster features three WDSO students - Billy Atherton, Nathan Babcock and Jackie Santos, along with Chicago DJ, John Records Landecker. All posters are signed.
Radiothon is the time when listeners can make a contribution to the station. All members of WDSO will be taking pledges or donations prior to the fundraiser and during the week of the Radiothon. You can make a pledge by calling the station at 983-3777 or by using a special e-mail address that will be available during the week so that you can make a pledge on-line by going to WDSO’s website at wdso.org.
