Warrior Dash Is Not for the Faint of Heart

The Warrior Dash is a Mud-Crawling, Fire Leaping, and Extreme Run. This Fierce Running Series is held on the most Challenging and Rugged Terrain across the Globe. Warriors conquer extreme obstacles, push their limits and celebrate with music, beer and warrior helmets.

This year I was dragged to the Warrior Dash by my friends Natalie Danko, Courtney Danko and Dave Linn in Channahon, IL at Dollinger Farms. I am an experienced runner of 5K’s and competing in a race like this was not something I would ever think about doing or even enjoy. I was completely wrong after I ran 3.28 miles, slipped and slithered through terrains, climbed over rusted vehicles, crawled across tangled nets, pulled myself up massive slops, jumped over walls, hopped through tires, leaped over warrior fires and swam in muddy water under barbwire to the finish line! I had the time of my life before, during and after the race!

Thousands of people participate in this craziness! After the race our running shoes were donated to GreenSneakers which raises funds for the Warrior Dash Charity Partner and become recycled as affordable footwear for people in need around the world.

Here's what my friends thought about the Warrior Dash:

"Every race, every run has a purpose to me. What I took from the Warrior Dash this year is to support the people who have carried me through all the obstacles I have been through. Even in our own struggles there is room to inspire the people we love! Sometimes life gets dirty. As long as you have good company you can get out of any mess. Thanks Cork, Tree, and Dave, could not have done it without you 3!" - Natalie Danko

"Watching the earlier wave that was underway, participants were disappearing over hills and obstacles then reappearing elsewhere on the course. I began to think, "What did I get myself into?" When it was time for my wave to begin, my adrenaline took over and I was ready to take on the Warrior Dash. I ran, climbed, hurdled, and crawled. I experienced obstacles that included walls, cargo nets, vehicles, fire, water, mud, and more. I had a great time running this course and am glad I chose the Warrior Dash to be my first race. I can't wait to do it again next year!" - Dave Linn

"The Warrior Dash was a lot of fun and I am excited to do it again next year!" - Courtney Danko
