A warming center has been activated at Woodland Park, (2100 Willowcreek Road) for citizens in need. The warming center is open during the Parks Department normal business hours during this cold streak. Additionally, if you need the services of a warming center outside of these hours, please call the Portage Police Department non-emergency number at 219-762-3122 and they will assist you. They can also assist with arranging transportation to a warming center.
Your local Portage Fire Stations are also available as temporary warming centers. Transportation arrangements will then be made to get you to a designated warming center.
