Verizon Wireless Expands 4G LTE Coverage in Greater Chicago Area

Verizon Wireless announced an expansion of its 4G LTE network in the greater Chicago area. Starting on December 15, the network will also be available north to the Illinois/Wisconsin state line, east to Valparaiso, Ind., south to Braidwood, Ill., and west to Woodstock, Ill. The coverage expansion includes Valparaiso, Ind. A full list of new Chicago-area cities that will be covered can be found at the end of this email.

Verizon’s 4G LTE network is up to 10 times faster than Verizon’s 3G network and offers customers 16 powerful devices such as the new DROID RAZR by Motorola smartphone (available Nov. 11) and the HTC Rezound (available Nov. 14). Since its launch in December 2010, Verizon Wireless™ 4G LTE network has won numerous technology and consumer choice awards. In real-world, fully-loaded network environments, Verizon Wireless 4G LTE customers should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink. This allows users to share pictures and video in real-time, download songs in seconds, stream movies with no buffering and video chat without any lag time.
