The Valparaiso Police Department is honored to announce the swearing-in of six new officers as 2025 begins. Mayor Jon Costas performed the ceremony within the council chambers of City Hall this morning, welcoming Jacob Bill, Madison Patrick, Nicholas Houston, Kaleb Ellingham, Kevin Flynn, and Dominic Iannantone to the police department. Numerous officers and civilian staff joined the families of the new hires, witnessing the memorable event.
Jacob Bill is a 2015 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, and served in the Air National Guard from 2016-2022 (Security Services). Bill arrives in Valparaiso with several years of police experience, having served with the Indiana State Police, Bourbon (IN) Police, Winona Lake (IN) Police, Mentone (IN) Police, and the Manvel (TX) Police from 2018-2024.
Madison Patrick is a 2022 graduate of Hebron High School and is currently enrolled at Ivy Tech Community College where she is studying Criminal Justice. Patrick has been serving the City of Valparaiso since 2023, working in Parking Enforcement.
Nicholas Houston is a 2018 graduate of Bloom Trail High School (IL) and earned his bachelor’s degree from Millikin University in 2022 (Criminal Justice). Houston has prior legal experience, working as an expungement specialist for the Macon County (IL) Sheriff’s Department and as a paralegal for Amero & Root, PC (2022-2023).
Kaleb Ellingham is a 2020 graduate of Calumet New Tech High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana Tech in 2024. Ellingham studied Criminal Justice while attending Indiana Tech and completed a certificate in Legal Studies.
Kevin Flynn is a 2015 graduate of Kokomo High School, and served in the U.S. Army from 2015-2023 where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. Flynn further attended the Tulsa Welding School earning a technical certificate in 2024.
Dominic Iannantone is a 2020 graduate of Carl Sandburg High School (IL) and earned his bachelor’s degree from Elmhurst University in 2024. Iannantone studied Criminal Justice while attending Elmhurst.
