It's 6 pm and your child has a fever and an earache, yet you don't have to wait until morning for answers, thanks to Porter's CareEXPRESS. CareEXPRESS is an urgent care center open 9 am to 9 pm seven days a week with an added plus: No appointment necessary! Staffed by Porter physicians, CareEXPRESS provides prompt, quality care for non-emergent conditions, illnesses, or injuries such as sprains/strains, lacerations, broken bones or minor fractures, allergic reactions, upper respiratory infections, and more.

"We brought my 11-year-old in because he was really uncomfortable, and we suspected strep. His pediatrician wasn't available, but we didn't want to head to the Emergency Department," said Elizabeth Shephard. "Rather than face a sleepless night of worry, we got a quick diagnosis and a prescription to begin the healing process."

CareEXPRESS is located at Porter's Chesterton Medical Campus, 650 Dickinson Road in Chesterton. The urgent care facility includes an on-site lab and x-ray services.

"We know that people get sick and injured beyond normal business hours and families are busy. CareEXPRESS is a convenient option for urgent, non-emergent care in a neighborhood setting," said CareEXPRESS manager Joanna Nelson, RN, BSN. "Obviously, your family physician is always your first choice, but CareEXPRESS is there when your physician may not be." For more information, please call 219.926.7755 or visit porterhealth.com
