Lake Area United Way recently presented management, drivers and staff of UPS, Hammond with the prestigious “Campaign Champion” award for the company’s outstanding support of the 2013 LAUW Community Campaign. This award recognizes organizations whose workplace giving efforts resulted in an increase of at least 10% or more over the previous year.
TJ Holsen, Lake Area United Way’s Director of Resource Development, was on hand to present the award to UPS’ General Manager, Eric O’Keefe and staff at the Hammond facility. Holsen commented, “UPS is an outstanding partner to Lake Area United Way. Their ongoing support makes a measurable difference in Lake County.” He added, “The contribution from UPS increased over 32% compared to last year’s campaign.” He added, “It is obvious that management and employees understand the importance of giving back to the communities in which they live, work and raise their families.”
In accepting the award O’Keefe said, “UPS is proud to partner with United Way to help deliver impact in our communities.”
