Kris Pate, executive director of United Way of LaPorte County, is celebrating the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss and the Annual Read Across America Day with her four-year-old grandson Konnor.
Pate stresses the importance of reading to young children as United Ways throughout the country today are partnering with the National Education Association to highlight the critical need to advance early reading among young children.
