Two Educational Programs Scheduled for April 21

Fruits-pineapples-apple-orangeCorinne Powell, Purdue Extension Educator, Health and Human Sciences, will present “Eating for Your Eyes” at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the Porter County Expo Center, 215 E. Division Road, Valparaiso, IN. This program will focus on certain foods for eye health and the importance of regular eye exams. It will explain how vision problems creep up slowly as you age. Dozens of studies on nutrition and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) point to a relationship between increased fruit and vegetable intake and a decrease in the risk of AMD.

Following this program, you are invited to attend “Ten Strategies for Better Time Management” at 11:00 am presented by Annetta Jones, Purdue Extension Educator, Health and Human Sciences. This lesson describes 10 possible strategies for improving your ability to manage the events in your life in relation to time. You will find that a time management strategy that works best for you depends on your personality, ability to self-motivate and level of self-discipline.

Please call the Porter County Extension Office at 465-3555 to pre-register. There is no fee required, and the public is invited to attend. If you have a disability that requires special assistance for your participation, please contact Purdue Cooperative Extension Service, Porter County Office, at (219) 465-3555.
