Woodland Park in Portage was expecting a capacity crowd for its annual Daddy-Daughter Dance this year. In the past they had limited the ticket sales to 300, this year they decided to accommodate a full capacity crowd which was 500!

On Tuesday night, there was a special happening at the Portage 16 IMAX in Portage, IN. This was the location for the United Way of Porter County's Annual Celebration. This unique event brought their successful 2013-2014 "Be The One" Campaign to a close in style.

7. Portage Township YMCA Hosts a Wicked Witches Brew

On Saturday afternoon, the Portage Township YMCA helped to close out the brew festival season with a fest of their own. It was the inaugural Witches Brew, a beer tasting event with proceeds going back to the YMCA's annual campaign.

Youngsters who came out to attend the Portage YMCA for "Prom Night" walked down the Yellow Brick Road toward their jam-packed evening of fun! Moms and dads were the "dates" tonight for this night out on the town celebrating their child's first prom experience!

Haunted houses and spooky hay rides are a great way for older kids and teenagers to enjoy the Halloween season. However, for those too little or too scared to attend events like these, a Halloween Boo Fest was put on to provide them with the chance to enjoy the October holiday.

10. Annual Prom Fashion Show Brings Fun to Students While Giving Back

The annual Portage High School Prom Fashion Show, hosted by the Health Occupations Students of America of Thursday night, was more than just a normal fashion show. For HOSA it is more than just a fundraiser because they always donate the proceeds to a charity. This year, HOSA donated their profits the Gabriel's' Horn, a short-term shelter for homeless women and children.
