Tina Sanders Home Dedication: Habitat’s First Veteran Build Homeowner Receives Keys to New Home

Habitat-for-HumanityTina Sanders and her daughter Katlynn will celebrate the official ownership of their new home at their Home Dedication on November 4, 2017. Volunteers and donors will be invited to attend the celebration, beginning with an Open House to view the completed home at 5501 Sapphire Lane in Valparaiso from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and then meeting at the Porter VFW Post 2511 at 1 p.m. for the key presentation ceremony and refreshments.

"We are thrilled to have partnered with Tina on this home. She is amazing and by all accounts one of the most gracious and deserving people we could have ever found," said Kelly Longhi, Director of Habitat for Humanity of Porter County.

Tina and Katlynn are thankful for this experience, "We are very grateful to everyone that has been involved in this process. We are so excited to move into our new home and want to thank the community for all their donations, time, and support," said Tina.

Working with Tina has been a wonderful experience. We are so excited to wrap up our First Veteran Build in time for Thanksgiving. Looking ahead, we hope to continue building affordable homes for veterans in the coming years and are excited to have begun our largest build yet for a family of 10 in Hebron!
