Remember to come to the Larry Neff Center for Career Connections in November! Whether you need help writing or revising a resume, want to brush up on your computer skills, or just need help finding a job, we are here for you. At the Center for Career Connections, we can help with all of this and more. This month we will be conducting workshops on Google Forms, Google Sheets, and Resume Writing, as well as hosting a workshop on Digital Literacy. Every month we offer North Star Digital Literacy Training and Indeed Assessments to be scheduled at your convenience. Our staff will conduct an intake and assess your strengths, and interests to develop a digital and career training path that is unique to you. With the Larry Neff Center for Career Connection’s staff assistance, you are sure to gain competitive digital training and a marketable career pathway. The series of assessments available may be completed in increments and upon training and completion, certificates will be awarded.

- Masks are strongly recommended for guests who are working closer than 6 feet with anyone else
- Masks are required for those who have not been vaccinated

NorthStar Digital Literacy Training
- Monday through Friday / 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
In this training, you will perform various tasks that will be assessed online through self-guided modules. Included are basic computer digital literacy standards and modules in the areas of Basic Computer Use, Internet Basics, Windows and Mac Operating Systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with Email, Social Media, and Information Literacy.
Indeed Assessments
Assessments will be offered in the focus areas of critical thinking, attention to detail, problem solving, data entry, customer focus and bookkeeping.
Make Your Own Google Form
- Tuesday, November 9th / 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
Do you want to create a survey, a questionnaire, an order form, a quiz, or an opinion poll? We want to teach you how. Google Forms is free online software that allows you to create any of these items and collects the answers for you. You can send these forms out to people or even embed them into a webpage and have people fill them out as they visit that page. This is a great tool with many applications; don’t miss out on learning how to use it.
Financial Literacy Workshop
- Wednesday, November 10th / 10:00 am to 11:00 pm
First Midwest Bank will be joining us to conduct a workshop about financial literacy. Financial literacy can help you make informed and effective decisions about your financial resources. Pre-registration is required by Friday, November 5th for attendance so don’t delay and miss out on this great opportunity.
Resume Writing 101
- Tuesday, November 16th / 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
If you want to learn how to confidently communicate your worth to a potential employer, this workshop is for you. We will go through the dos and don’ts of resume writing, the three types of resumes and which one is best for you, how to put your best foot forward and market yourself as an asset, and much more.
Present Greatness with Google Slides
- Tuesday, November 30th / 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
Join us for this workshop and learn how much greater your presentation can be. Google slides is a presentation creating program, much like Microsoft PowerPoint, but unlike PowerPoint it is entirely web based and free. Presentations are still extremely useful in the world today, not only in school and work projects, but in public speaking events, at church, funerals, reunions, and various other events.
All Center for Career Connections Events are free and open to the public.
