Prematurity Awareness Resource Fair

November is Premature awareness month. Goodwill Center for Career Connections in Gary is Partnering with Nurse Family Partnership to host a Resource Fair for expecting mothers, current mothers, as well as those who are striving to become pregnant. In 2019, Lake County infant mortality rate was 10.3% and Porter County was 10.1%. Nurse-Family Partnership is a free program that provides support exclusively to first-time pregnant moms in Lake County. With this program you will receive your own personal nurse to visit you throughout your pregnancy and after when your baby is born. Nurse Family Partnership’s goal is to help you have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. NFP supports you by answering questions and giving you information about caring for yourself and your baby. NFP also assists with guidance to community resources for any personal goals you may have, including school, housing, food, childcare, health insurance, and much more. We will have community partners with resources, information and employers available to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Vision Board Creation
- Tuesday, November 30th / 11:30 am to 1:30 pm
As we finish off year 2021 and enter into 2022, the Goodwill Center for Career Connections presents Vision Board Creation. A vision board (also known as prayer board or dream board) is a visual representation of your life’s professional and personal goals. Your vision board can signify all of your goals for the year ahead; or it can focus on a specific area like career, business, home life, spiritual growth, well-being or relationships that you want to develop in 2022. If you are unsure what your dreams are, that's fine! Part of the workshop will be learning how to uncover or rediscover those (sometimes) long buried dreams. If you would like to bring any magazines and pictures to add to your board, please feel free!
All Center for Career Connections Events are free and open to the public.
