The Good News Cycle Works

portage-press-circle-chartWant proof that sharing good news really works? Then take a look at the good news cycle that we use at Midwest Family Federal Credit Union. The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana has a need for peanut butter and other non-perishable food items, so we teamed up with them to form the Spread the Love Campaign.

What happened was local credit unions, including Midwest Family Federal Credit Union, join forces to collect food donations. We asks for donations using the Portage Press which is an electronic newsletter from the Portage Chamber of Commerce that is shared via their website and email. The Portage Press is then shared on PortageLife.com on it's Facebook page and Twitter feeds which reaches even more people.

Fans like Donna Flanagin from Flanagin’s Bulk Mail Service see the Spread the Love Campaign on PortageLife and present the food drive to the charitable Sterling Hope Club. This club makes it a mission to help and uses their own money to purchase jars of peanut butter to donate.

The food items are donated and delivered to the Food Bank, and now struggling families can find some relief.
