The Final Stop for Portage High School’s BPA

Final-Stop-for-PHS-BPA-2018Portage High Schools Business Professionals of America, traveled to Dallas, Texas Wednesday, May 9-Sunday, May 13, 2018 to participate in the final leg of BPA’s yearlong competition. Sponsor Lisa Melendez had the pleasure of traveling with three amazing students.

Senior, Nate Partin, who served as a state officer for the school year and completed his duties in Dallas as a voting delegate.

Senior, Chloe Morrision who came out of the state of Indiana as the one contest winner for the contest Business Law placed 4th out of 67 students that took the test and Rogelio Murrilo who came out of the state of Indiana as the number three competitor for Fundamental Accounting, did his best and placed 45 out of 72 students that took the test.

“It was another great year for BPA as I transitioned to board chair for the state of Indiana and had a state officer in Nate Partin, two things which Portage BPA had not done before”. Ms. Melendez said. “I appreciate all the support that was shown to my kids from teachers, parents and administrators. Without good support, it’s hard to run BPA because BPA is an organization, not a club and I appreciate everyone who got involved this school year.” Ms. Melendez.
