The Cobe Cup 103rd Anniversary Celebration

Cobe-Cup-103rd-Anniversary-1The Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce along with the Lowell Chamber of Commerce will host the Cobe Cup 103rd Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, May 26, 2012. This car cruise “re-races” the tire tracks of the 1909 Cobe Cup Race, which is believed to be Indiana’s first major car race, predating the Indianapolis 500.

Registration will take place at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point, Indiana from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Participants can register for a fee of $10.00 their pre-1984 cars, trucks and motorcycles and all year’s Corvettes for $10.00. All registered drivers will receive goodie bags.

The cruise will begin at 1:00 pm from the Lake County Fairgrounds. Participants will travel through Cedar Lake and continue to Lowell, heading east to Buckley Homestead County Park. The cruise will then head back through downtown Lowell, where it will conclude at the American Legion Post 101 on East Commercial Avenue at approximately 2:00 pm. Trophies will be awarded and participants can enjoy food and music until 4:00 pm.
