The City of Portage will welcome the holiday season with a day full of activities on Saturday, Dec. 3.

The City of Portage will welcome the holiday season with a day full of activities on Saturday, Dec. 3.

The Portage Department of Parks & Recreation will kick off the day hosting its Annual Christmas Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Woodland Park, 2100 Willowcreek Road.Some 70 vendors will be available during the show.

There is no admission fee, however visitors are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry.Santa will be making a visit from Noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. The Annual Christmas Craft Show will continue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 4.

The Portage Kiwanis Club will host Santa's Parade of Toys. The kick off of the parade will be at 4 p.m. at Central Avenue and Willowcreek Road and continue eastward to Founders Plaza, adjacent to the Portage Police Station on Central Avenue.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at Founders Plaza at approximately 4:30 p.m. where the Portage Event Partnership will host the city's annual tree lighting event.Following the tree lighting, youngsters will be able to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus. Hot cocoa and cookies will also be available.
