The staff earned a “Superior” rating on their Hoosier Star critique, which lead to the honor. IHSPA offers the critique and distinctions each year to high school publications in Indiana who earn an “Excellent” or “Superior” rating on their critique.
The Pow Wow staff submitted three consecutive issues of their newspaper for review. IHSPA gave a special distinction to the staff for the opinion section, edited by senior Marko Mavrovic.
The student-produced newspaper is led by juniors and editors-in-chief Nick Blue and Lydia Gerike along with junior Mary Clancy as the managing editor of content and junior Taylor Clemens as the managing editor of design. Staff section editors, writers, designers and photographers include Alexis Christlieb, Alexis Coffman, Shelby Ford, Sierra Judy, Jalynn Madison, Marko Mavrovic, Amber Nelson, Samantha Smith, Lily Someson, Alex Stack and Lexy Young.
