When your check engine light comes on, it’s time for a regular oil change, or your tires need to be rotated, getting your car into a shop for service can feel like a major ordeal. One shop’s hours might be too inflexible, another’s prices might be too high, while another’s reviews might be suspect.
Team Chevrolet of Valparaiso’s service department looks to break those stereotypes, offering affordable, reliable, transparent, and trustworthy service on a schedule that works for its customers. The dealership’s service hours run from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every weekday, but unlike many auto service shops, they also offer weekend hours – running from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday.
“We understand that people are busy and that the only time they might be able to drop their car off is a Saturday,” said Brace Woolsey, service manager at Team Chevy. “We want to make sure the whole process is convenient for our customers.”
The crew at Team Chevy is equipped to service all makes and models, with competitive pricing and financing options available to ensure that much-needed repairs do not break the bank. They also offer deals on routine maintenance such as tire changes, oil changes, brake replacement, new battery installations, and more.
For drivers of Chevrolet or other GM vehicles, Team Chevy’s status as a certified Chevy dealer gives them access to original parts for all models as well as the ability to offer two-year, unlimited mileage warranties on parts and labor for those vehicles.
“We work on General Motors vehicles all day long; our team are experts on them,” Woolsey explained. “We also have factory support on diagnosing GM vehicles. If something has a rare, challenging issue, the factory can step in to help us solve it. That’s something that other service centers just don’t have.”
Woolsey also puts a focus on establishing a collaborative environment in the service center, where technicians work closely together to elevate the standard of their work to an exceptionally high level.
“It’s in the name, but we really are a team here,” he said. “I’ve seen shops where the technicians are divided, where they’re all stuck in their own lane. It’s not like that here; everybody is ready to help each other and work together.”
Team Chevy also puts an emphasis on transparency – any time an inspection is done on a vehicle, the technicians film a video of it as well as take pictures of the process. The video and photo package is sent to each customer as standard procedure.
“It’s very important to us that every customer leaves here with a video so that they can review our recommendations and any issues they have with their vehicle,” Woolsey stressed. “We have meetings with our shop three times a week where we review the quality of these videos, so that we can continue to improve them and continually train our employees on putting them together. That’s how important it is for our dealership and organization.”
The ultimate goal is to ensure that every customer leaves the dealership happy. That commitment to customer satisfaction earns the team a lot of repeat customers who come to Team Chevy first whenever their car needs work.
“Maintaining that loyalty is very important to us. It’s our number one priority because it means we’re satisfying our customers,” Woolsey said. “We do everything we can to make sure they’re having a good experience. If there’s ever an issue, either myself or our general manager Dave Brubaker will get involved right away to make sure that customer leaves the dealership happy.”
