Area students are invited to participate in the upcoming session as Senate pages

State Senator Karen Tallian (D-Portage) is inviting area students to participate in the upcoming session of the Indiana General Assembly by serving as Senate pages.

Students in grade 6 through high school seniors may apply to serve as Senate pages while the General Assembly is in session. Students will serve in the State Senate for one day assisting legislative aides and interns with legislative tasks and attending session in the Senate chamber. Volunteering as a Senate page is an excused absence from school.

Session begins January 5 and will continue through April 29. Pages serve only on session days, which are generally Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of each week.

There are a limited number of page positions available each session and interested students should email Sen. Tallian at s4@iga.in.gov or write in care of the Indiana State Senate, 200 West Washington, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204-2785, and include their full name, address, phone number, age, school, and two different dates they would be available.
