The Elkhart County Fairgrounds buzzed with excitement on Wednesday, July 24, as children flocked to Kids Day at the 4-H Fair. Surf Internet was one of the sponsors of this special day.
During Kids Day, Surf partnered and collaborated on a booth with the E3 Robotics Center, a nonprofit based in Elkhart. Children were delighted to find a variety of fun freebies at the booth including coloring pages, stickers, temporary tattoos, bracelets, and the crowd favorite — a small wooden robot. They were also enthralled by two robots, operated by students from E3 Robotics, navigating the area.
It’s important to Surf that it partners with companies like E3 Robotics. Helping other companies thrive and impact the community in a positive way is at Surf’s core.
“Surf Internet is on a mission to transform lives by delivering the highest quality fiber internet available to allow its customers to connect to all the things they care about whether its education, working from home, or enjoying family time,” Amber Rodriguez, senior director of growth marketing at Surf Internet, said. “We are proud to partner with E3 Robotics and support their mission in giving the youth of the community a home to grow their minds with robotics and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) based programming.”
The E3 Robotics Center offers a range of programs for students from kindergarten through 12th grade, including robotics and eSports. The center's collaboration with Surf ensures that students have access to the high-speed internet necessary for these activities.
Brian Boehler, executive director at the E3 Robotics Center, expressed gratitude for the sense of reliability working with Surf gives them.
“Surf has been a fantastic sponsor over the years, really supporting our robotics and eSports programs,” Boehler said. “This year, they stepped it up even further by helping to bring fiber internet into our building, which we previously didn’t have. This support helps us know that our students have very fast internet and allows our eSports teams to compete at the highest level with teams across the country.”
Both companies share a commitment to fostering innovation and education among youth. Their collaboration promotes technological literacy and inspires the next generation of innovators.
“Surf and E3 Robotics compliment one another with the common goal of impacting its community,” Rodriguez said. “Surf makes it a priority to support the initiatives E3 Robotics bring to the table as we know it's impacting the future and will leave lasting impacts on the youth for years to come.”
Dan Umbower, sales manager at Surf, expressed his excitement about the company’s involvement in Kids Day and with the E3 Robotics Center. He also emphasized Surf’s commitment to the community.
“It’s rewarding to support the education at E3 Robotics because they’re doing so much, especially today for Kids Day, showcasing their creations and what they’re working on,” Umbower said. “It’s great to partner with them and give back to the community by supporting the kids at the fair.”
