April showers have brought May flowers, and Strack & Van Til Floral Department’s florists are getting ready for this summer with a wide variety of bouquets, arrangements, plants, and more. They offer a selection of everyday favorites like roses, daisies, lilies, tulips, and more, perfect for a “just because” arrangement of flowers for that special someone or as a simple way to spruce up your home.
As we near high school and college graduations, wedding season, and proms, Strack & Van Til florists have stayed up to date on all the flower and plant trends so there’s something for everyone to enjoy on their special day.
“Trends are changing with the world and so are buyer demographics,” said Jen Knoche, Floral Director for Strack & Van Til. “For example, mixed flowers have become our top seller. They range from $5 bouquets to $30 bouquets, and they’re all beautiful.”
For a long time, Strack & Van Til’s rose selection has been a Region favorite. Sourced from a farm in Ecuador, South America, Stracks & Van Til’s beautiful, fresh roses have been a source of pride for the company. But now, mixed flower bouquets have become more popular than roses, catching people’s attention with their bright colors and fun nature. The shift to mixed flower bouquets is one of the many changing trends in the floral industry.
“They have these beautiful and fun flowers like pom daisies, gerbera daisies, roses, lilies, and, especially now, a lot of greenery and foliage.”
Greenery and foliage are other changing floral trends Strack & Van Til has seen grow more popular, especially for weddings and prom arrangements.
“In our arrangements and even our consumer bunches, which are bouquets that customers and mix and match to design their own, you’ll see things like eucalyptus and dark green foliage,” Knoche said. “It’s something you see in wedding bouquets and centerpieces, or for proms whether it’s the traditional boutonniere, corsage, or a special bouquet, which has been trendy in recent years.”
Floral arrangements at each Strack & Van Til location are hand-crafted by trained designers. There are arrangements ready to grab-and-go from coolers that keep the flowers fresh and lively, but for those looking to create their own masterpiece, customers can order customized bouquets and arrangements, and Stack & Van Til’s florists will bring them to life.
“We can always make special custom orders for anyone who calls our stores or comes in to talk with one of our florists,” Knoche said. “We can design and make their own at any point.”
For the upcoming graduating Class of 2021, Strack & Van Til offers a large selection of beautiful graduate bouquets, featuring bright, vibrant colors that pop. But for those looking for something different that shows your school pride, check out Strack & Van Til’s selection of balloons with your school colors.
“Our number one graduation seller is balloons,” Knoche said. “We have all kinds of balloons with school colors you can get in-store depending on which school it’s near. We also have assorted bright-colored balloons you can choose from.”
Online ordering is also available for customers on the store’s website. There, guests have the opportunity to customize and bring a beautiful arrangement to life that can be delivered right to their door.
“We offer online ordering and free shipping for orders over $30,” Knoche said. “That’s becoming very popular and has been very successful for us. You can look online at a ton of different selections; there’s something for everyone.”
You can even add balloons and Fannie May chocolates to your online order, all without having to leave your home. You can order your bouquets, arrangements, balloons, and more on their website at https://strackandvantil.com/company/departments/floral/.
