Steve’s Deep Cuts Vol 2.: Classic Entertainment Articles

Deepcuts12Awwwww, yes. It’s (whatever time you’re reading this) time of the day/night, and that means “Deep Cuts” are back and better than ever. It may be breakfast time, it may be dinner time, but it doesn’t matter. I’m just glad you’re here.

Because all that that matters is you’re here now, taking in the deep cuts; that good news food for the soul.

So what’s on the menu today? Hope you’re thirsty, too, because I went deep into the chilled cellar of positivity (pending trademark) and found some finely aged good news from our Entertainment section.

So without further ado, here’s a few deep cuts that only got better with time:

When the Bottle Rockets Rocked:

I love this article for two reasons: One, this was the debut of Sam, one of our amazing coverage team members who took on this challenge and really immersed herself in the event. Second, this was a show that by all reports from Sam and many others, just rocked the house. It was awesome for us to be a part of such a memorable show and thank you to the Memorial Opera House and Imagine Music for letting us be a part of that.

When Kyle’s love for movies couldn’t be contained anymore:

When ‘Jurassic World’ came out, it was a huge deal to a lot of people, but it was easily the biggest deal in the world to our in-house Cinephile, Kyle.

This article was his first endeavor into the movie review world, and it sparked what has become an ongoing series of great reads and recommendations on our sites.

When the La Porte Marching Band took the spotlight:

The La Porte Marching Band is kind of a big deal. Ok, it’s a really big deal. And we know this because we spent a hot, summer day out on the “frying pan” to see the pride, passion, and commitment to excellence it takes to become such a big deal.

Ludacris is playing, for free, in Hammond this Summer:

So this is relatively new, but it’s instant good news. Not a whole lot to say about this other than one of the biggest entertainers of the Millenial generation is playing a free show in Northwest Indiana and you know…..OH MY GOD LUDACRIS IS COMING TO THE REGION!!!!!

Deep breath.

Enjoy this week’s “Deep Cuts,” and be sure to come back next week as we take you on another journey through the archives of awesome (pending trademark).
