Ever wonder how Porter County stacks up against the rest of Northwest Indiana in how it takes care of the environment? Here’s your opportunity to find out. Join the Duneland Chamber of Commerce for a luncheon on Wednesday, May 22 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Chesterton, and enjoy a “State of the Environment” presentation by Save the Dunes Executive Director Nicole Barker. Registration begins at 11:30am, and tickets may be purchased by calling the Chamber at (219) 926.5513 or visiting www.dunelandchamber.org. All are welcome.
“We’ll be taking a look at conservation through a national and regional lens, and then drilling down into what’s going on here in Porter County – the goals we’re setting; the projects we’re moving forward; and the metrics we’re hitting. And then we’ll explore specific steps that everyone can take to contribute,” says Barker.
“During the past several months, we’ve welcomed several keynote presenters from the economic development arena to our luncheons,” says Heather Ennis, the Chamber’s Executive Director. “This month, we felt that it was very important to hear from one of the region’s leaders in environmental sustainability. Save the Dunes is one of the country’s oldest conservation organizations, and we’re honored that Nicole is taking the time to come and speak with us.”
Good to Go by Lucrezia will be catering the luncheon, while staff from the Post-Tribune will be providing welcoming remarks. The favor of an RSVP is requested by Monday, May 20. Please call the Chamber office at (219) 926-5513, visit www.dunelandchamber.org, or email info@dunelandchamber.org to register. Tickets for Chamber members are $12 ($14 if invoiced), while tickets for community members are $16 each.
