St. Mary Medical Center Welcomes New Breast Cancer Navigator

Ana-GuzmanSt. Mary Medical Center announces the appointment of Ana B. Guzman, RN, BSN, Breast Cancer Navigator, to their Women’s Diagnostic Center in Hobart and Valparaiso.

Guzman is responsible for guiding patients through the entire range of breast health procedures including performing ultrasound or stereotactic breast biopsies; educating patients on the importance of breast health; charting pathology reports to keep accurate information, and discussing the American Cancer Society’s guidelines with physicians and patients. She also serves as a patient liaison, helping women navigate health options relating to breast cancer diagnoses.

Guzman received her nursing degrees from Indiana University Northwest and Purdue University Calumet. She has more than 14 years of nursing experience, and is bilingual in Spanish. Her most recent position was as a nurse in Interventional Radiology and Breast Cancer Navigator at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago.

Guzman lives in Hobart with her husband and son.
