SSO invites you to join them to celebrate and help raise funds for another exciting year of providing an intriguing musical interlude with fine music at a modest cost. This will begin their 8th season.

SSO's tradition of enlightening and expanding their audiences through historically significant and culturally contemporary sounds, is what makes this young community orchestra work as a team to produce the very best. SSO is a recent recipient of a South Shore Arts grant.

SSO-China-2012-2Hook and Ladder Winery will be the host for this year's 7th annual wine dinner served at Nicole Bisonette's restaurant, Venue by Bistro in Valparaiso. Vintners Cecil and Christine DeLoach created this Californian Russian River Valley winery after successfully having built a growing winemaking business under the DeLoach label. From growing the grapes to the making of old vine Zinfandel and Pinot Noir distinctive wines, the couple changed their focus on the development of a more designer aspect of crafting and providing wines that people love to drink. Cecil's retirement from the San Francisco Fire Department gave reason to sell the one business and began another infused with their children who grew up living the business. Today family run, it enjoys the distinctions of multiple awards and extreme satisfaction that comes with doing what you love.

Dinner tickets are limited to 80 guests. A five course dinner designed by Nicole to pair with the wines provided by our guest winemaker, proves to be a fine dining hit every year. Past participants rave about the selection of silent and live auction items and go away with a sought after wine inspired trip to Italy, B & B's in California and New Hampshire, jewelry and art brought from their recent China concert tour and an array of large format bottles from generous wine distributors, and fine items to special services from many local merchants.

The list goes on. All have been generous to SSO due to the mission of this young community orchestra--orchestrating a musical community for performers, audiences, young musicians and giving back to the communities they live and work in. Music is a universal language. It speaks to us in a inspirational way providing food for the soul. Come have dinner with us and help to expand our goals to grow and strengthen that which is broadening and creative.
