Spend an afternoon traveling through wine regions of several continents by sampling fine wines and at the same time support your local community orchestra! This is one of the major fundraisers that helps support annual costs of programming. This 8th annual wine tasting will be on Sunday August 25, 2-5 PM and catered by Chef Nicole Bissonette. A larger venue may be determined to host the larger crowd this annual event has attracted.
At least four distributors who volunteer their time and product to benefit SSO’s mission--to orchestrate a musical community--ensure that we will taste the best from several regions North to South, and East to West. Thirty to forty different wines will be served. Paired with a substantial hors dourve buffet you will feel like you have traveled abroad and wined and dined with the best. Count on some chamber music to soothe the soul as well!
Also complimenting your travel experience will be a little shopping from the many fine items offered through silent auction. Jewelry, artwork, scarves and linens from China as well as wine and wine accessories will ensure another way to add your generous support to SSO. All proceeds go directly to orchestra programming.
The orchestra is celebrating its 9th year offering fine music to the south shore region. Two major annual fundraisers--the wine tasting and a wine dinner--provide funds that help SSO to present three major concerts, several ensemble performances, a youth symphony, and a $2500 youth scholarship.
Tickets are $35 per person Wines showcased will be for sale. Net proceeds will benefit the South Shore Orchestra (501c3 corp) and its programs. For tickets contact Pete Brannen at petebrannen@hotmail.com, 219-464-7816 or cell:219-916-1013.
